Health & Safety
Policies
Anyone employing five or more persons must have a written Health and Safety policy by law.
This document outlines your commitment to the management of health and safety, including who does what, how and when.
REHSQ will carry out an initial safety health check to appraise your existing health and safety systems, which will identify areas of non-compliance and weakness in the form of a prioritised safety plan. We can then develop and implement a bespoke Health and Safety policy and management system for your organisation or undertake a review of your existing management system and recommend improvements.
Get in touch to discuss your requirements.
Risk Assessments
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 state that all places of work carry out a risk assessment to measure the risks to employees.
REHSQ can assist your organisation in formulating general risk assessments and, if required, specific risk areas such as Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH), Display Screen Equipment (DSE), Provision & Use of Work Equipment (PUWER) or Manual Handling.
Fire Risk Assessments
Fire Risk Assessments are a legal requirement for all premises (other than domestic premises) under UK legislation. A Fire Risk Assessment is designed to provide a clear and concise assessment of any potential fire risks and provide advice regarding the steps to reduce the risk.
REHSQ can undertake a thorough Fire Risk Assessment of your premises, together with a corrective action plan to rectify any issues.
Safe Systems of Work
A Safe System of Work (SSoW) is a documented method of carrying out a work activity in a safe and controlled manner. It is an essential tool in protecting your staff and anyone else potentially impacted by their activities.
REHSQ adopts a risk-based approach to developing SSoWs. We will systematically evaluate a task or activity together with the staff who do the work. This way we can fully understand the hazards involved and create an effective and efficient working practice. We can help you to develop new or review existing SSoWs.
Inspection & Audit
Auditing is crucial, as it examines how efficient, effective, and reliable your management system is. While its primary purpose is to assure on compliance, it also assesses how well processes are being followed and identifies corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
REHSQ can provide either one-off or regular independent auditing services. We can provide a fresh pair of eyes that may see things that otherwise might be missed. Our audits can cover assessment of policies, procedures, and systems. Depending on your needs, they may be company-wide, site-wide, or just focus on a specific area or risk within the business.
We will provide a comprehensive audit report highlighting any issues, gaps, and opportunities, together with a corrective action plan.
ISO Support
An ISO-standard accreditation will help you stand out from your competitors and will provide assurance to your customers that you provide a high level of product and (or) service.
REHSQ can guide you through the required process. We can work with you to put the systems and processes in place that you will need to gain accreditation.
Training
Training is a critical component of any management system, helping you to ensure your workforce is suitably competent to carry out their tasks. REHSQ can also help you to identify and evaluate health and safety and business continuity training needs, so your training programme is fit for purpose, whether delivered in house or by external providers. We use the internationally recognised ADDIE Model for Instructional Design’ (Analyse, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) to ensure you are getting maximum benefit from your training budget.
REHSQ can also develop and deliver a variety of bespoke, non-accredited, in-house training courses unique to your organisation. Examples include:
- Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA)
- COSHH Awareness
- Office Safety Awareness
- Homeworking
- Fire Wardens

We can also develop and present a comprehensive range of toolbox talks for your organisation.
Organisational Resilience
Organisational Resilience Readiness Assessment
Organisational Resilience is the ability of an organisation to absorb and adapt in a changing environment to enable it to deliver its objectives and to survive and prosper. A key principle of Organisational Resilience focusses on getting a process up and running before it causes intolerable harm to the organisation, its customers, and stakeholders.
REHSQ can undertake an Organisational Resilience Readiness Assessment for your company to ascertain its status of readiness. Contact us for further information.

Business Impact Analysis
Business Impact Analysis (BIA) forms a fundamental component of a Business Continuity Management System. Robust Business Continuity Plans are the result of thorough analysis of potential impacts resulting from disruption of business functions and processes and the resultant financial impact compared with the costs of potential recovery strategies.
REHSQ can conduct thorough BIAs of your organisation along with appropriate recovery strategies.
Business Continuity Management
Business Continuity management identifies an organisation’s priorities and prepares solutions to address disruptive threats. As an outcome, a Business Continuity Plan is designed to protect and continue critical operations in the event of a disruption. The Business Continuity Plan (BCP) documents the procedures that guide you on how to effectively respond, recover, resume, and restore to a pre-defined level of operations.
REHSQ can assist you in the development and implementation of a tailored plan suitable for your organisation. Our approach is risk-based, supported by Business Impact Analyses of your critical activities and the impact a disruptive event might have on them.
Crisis & Incident Management
An incident can be defined as a situation arising in the course of work resulting in injury, illness, or damage to property. In some instances, it can lead to a crisis resulting in significant and damaging business disruption, financial loss or reputational impact. Such a crisis can pose high uncertainty, disrupting your critical business activities. As we’ve seen over recent years (Covid-19, weather events, natural disasters, cyber attacks, costs of living, war, etc) a crisis can occur in many sizes or shapes.
REHSQ can assist you with each phase of the incident and crisis management lifecycles (prepare – respond – recover). We can also integrate these within a Business Continuity Management programme.
